Environmental action
Environmental Justice First Policy
Prioritize communities historically overburdened by pollution. No neighborhood should be treated as a dumping ground because of race, income, or ZIP code. Targeted reductions of toxic emissions near schools and homes.
Clean Water & Flood Protection
Invest in modern stormwater infrastructure, green spaces, and waterway cleanup to reduce flooding and protect drinking water in the Calumet and surrounding areas.
Will County has been disproportionately impacted by aging infrastructure and water quality issues, making clean water investment an urgent priority.
Education reform
Advocating for improved educational opportunities and resources for all students in Illinois
Fully funding the IDEA program to ensure students with disabilities receive the services they are legally entitled to.
Raising beginning teacher pay to $55,000 and above to attract, retain, and respect the educators our schools depend on.
Community development
Community development is about unlocking potential. When we invest in safe housing, strong schools, modern infrastructure, and thriving local businesses, we’re strengthening the foundation that families build their lives on.
As a member of Congress, I will work to secure resources for local projects, encourage public-private partnerships that create jobs, and support initiatives that revitalize our neighborhoods while preserving what makes them unique. Every community—urban, rural, and suburban—deserves the chance to grow, prosper, and determine its own path forward.
